Running Friends Hike on
the Heavens Gate Trail

On Saturday am 14 enthusuastic
hikers departed from the Willisville trailhead off Hwy.
6 and headed west for Mt Ararat app. 6.5 km along the Heaven's
Gate trail. Our turnaround point has one of the best views
of the north channel and Manitoulan Island and is the most
used part of the trail system which actually runs another
30+km to Sagamok near Massey. For most hikers this section
takes about 5 hours of walking to go both ways. We spent
another 45 glorious minutes atop the mountain. Thanks go
