Around the Bay This Sunday
|
Wishing all the best to
our local runners competing in the Around the Bay 30km
roadrace this Sunday in Hamilton.
Good luck everyone!
The Historic “Bay
Race”
Hamilton’s Around the Bay Road Race is the oldest
on the continent, first run in 1894, three years before
the Boston Marathon. Rich in tradition, it has been won
by the best from around the world, including Boston Marathon
winners and Olympic gold medallists. Become part of the
continuing tradition by running this challenging course
around Hamilton’s natural harbour!

Marvin Zonga Wins Silver
at OUA's
Marvin Zongo has
won LU’s first OUA Track and Field medal in
fifteen years! Marvin wins silver in Triple Jump.
Some ongoing drama with the measurement so we’ll
keep you in suspense for a bit! It is a new school
record and is over 15 metres!
Official results
finally posted. Marvin Zongo sets new school record
with a jump of 15.02 metres and wins silver! Next
stop is U Sports Championships in 2 weeks in St.
John, NB.

Track and Field Championships
Team on the way
Day 1 of OUA Track and Field
Championships brought LU two Top-10 finishes.
Marvin Zongo placed 7th in the Men’s
Long Jump with a best jump of 6.80 metres. Marvin is
coming off an ankle injury so this is solid progress
after a few weeks of recovery work.
Kristen Mrozewski placed 10th in the Women’s 1000m
in 3:03.00. Impressive result for a rookie in the OUA
to compete in the fastest section (and one of the deepest
in years) and very much hold her own. Sarah Booth placed
16th in the 1k with in 3:06.33 with a solid and competitive
run.
Tristan Routhier set a new personal best in the Men’s
60 metre - 7.26 seconds. Alexandre Noël de Tilly
was just off his PB with a time today 7.29 seconds.
Anthony Olowu also set a new PB running 7.30 seconds.
Alexandre closed the night off with a solid 300m in
38.02 seconds.
Day 2 on Saturday will see Sarah and Kristen running
the 600 metres and Marvin competing in the Triple Jump.
