This weekend, the Laurentian
indoor track team competed in the Hal Brown Last Chance
meet at the University of Toronto. They returned with
one medal and three OUA-qualifying standards in what
was the final meet of their regular season.Their medalist
was first-year runner, Eric Gareau, whose photo-finish
in the 1000m earned a bronze medal. Gareau’s time
of 2:30.93 was only 2/1000 out of the silver medal position.The
meet included large fields from 10 universities, including
Waterloo, Queens, Laval, McMaster, Toronto, York, Windsor,
Western, Laurier and Ryerson. A number of track clubs
were also involved.
