RESULTS OF SUMMER IN THE CITY TWILIGHT MEET

The highlight of the first twilight meet was a stellar 400
metre run by Tony Scott of King City and former Track North
runner from Sudbury, who posted an impressive and uncontested
51.00. Marc –Andre Paulin placed second in 59.1 with Philip
Dampier holding off a game Lucas mcAneney for third place in
61.1 to 62.5.
Top placers in the 800metre run were Adam Lalonde in 2.11.2
with Lucas McAneney placing second in 2.12.4 and master runner
Fred Robbins of Stoufville who placed 3rd in 2.19.9. Amanda
Russell was the top female, posting a 2.44.4.
Marc-Andre Paulin took control early in the 3,000 metre race
and cruised to a comfortable victory in 10.01. Ernesto Portugues
the wily veteran took the opposite approach by starting slowly
in last place and slowly working his way through the field to
nail down second place by overtaking Fred Robbins in posting
an impressive 10.26 debut for the distance. Fred Robbins took
third place in 10.33.1. to hold off a fast closing Donna Mae
Robbins. Donna Mae’s time of 10.47.8 confirmed that she
is gaining the required fitness to be competitive on the university
cross country circuit this Fall .
