EQUIPMENT NORTH Donates $10,000 to SudburyRocks!!! Marathon

NCF's Tannys Laughren, SudburyROCKS!!! Vince Perdue and Ryan Matusch from Equipment North

We were very excited to receive a generous $10,000 donation from Equipment North towards SudburyRocks Race, Run or Walk in memory of Steve Matusch, the visionary co-creator of the SudburyROCKS Marathon who passed away earlier this year.

      Bev's Story:

As we think about our Thanksgiving weekend we think about those we care about and what we are thankful for. At the Northern Cancer Foundation and the SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon we are thankful for our volunteers!

If you ran last year’s event you probably remember a volunteer at the corner of Eligin street and Beach Street cheering you on with all her might with her distinct raspy voice! That was Bev Brisco, an amazing Board Member and Volunteer with the Northern Cancer Foundation. Bev is now going through cancer treatment at the Northeast Cancer Centre. Volunteers and supporters like Bev are another reason to fundraise for the Northern Cancer Foundation through the SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon.

As a friendly reminder, as the Northern Cancer Foundation gears up for the Virtual SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon Presented by IONIC Mechatronics on Sunday, October 25th, one of our longstanding partners, Carriere Industrial, has come forward and announced that they will be matching donations (up to $4,000) leading up to race day! What does that mean for you as runner and walker? That means that every donation you bring in for the Northern Cancer Foundation for the SudburyROCKS!!! Marathon will be matched by Carriere industrial!

This is the perfect chance for you to go the extra distance and help raise much needed funds for the Northeast Cancer Centre for those we care about like Bev Brisco.
Need help? We are here to answer any questions you may have!

We hope you enjoyed the re-imagined CIBCRunfortheCure today!

The Apex Warrior Trail Series for the summer is complete.
We had 3 amazing events in 3 different locations throughout Sudbury. There was a lot of time invested in these events, from the course planning, making signs, course marking, custom medals, and much more. Special thanks to @rossbeyers for being my course marking partner for the day. Those day hikes were much more entertaining with you there. A huge thanks to my partner @mandy.lynn.ocr for your amazing ideas, staying up late to paint, organizing race kits, and making sure I have everything together. We even got a couple hours to have our dates out in the trails marking together ?? The events would have been this great without you.
Thanks to all the participants! Everyone had great feedback, I wanted you all to experience trail running and this is it! It’s beautiful, challenging, but so fun and rewarding.
